What is this course about?

This four-week nutrition course will provide you with all the foundational knowledge necessary to move towards a healthier lifestyle, and healthier relationship with food!


Starting with the basics of nutrition, you will gain a better understanding of the role of food in keeping our bodies healthy and functioning. You will learn how to make small tweaks to your current lifestyle that will get you closer to your nutrition and performance goals. Learn how to recover faster, perform better, and improve your overall health with the foods you eat each and every day!



Session One – Nutrition Fundamentals

In this first week, we will review the foundational principles of nutrition. Stephanie will provide an in-depth review of each nutrient your body requires every day, what these nutrients do for your body, and where you can find them in food. You will learn how to demystify information on nutrition fact labels and discover how to balance your plate without following strict food rules.


Session Two – Intuitive Eating and Ayurvedic Nutrition

This session will provide an in-depth understanding of the 10 principles of intuitive eating, and how you can apply them every day to form a healthier relationship with food. We will also discuss Ayurveda, or the science of extending life, and how you can eat in accordance with your individual dosha, or body type. Both concepts discussed in this class will give you the tools you need to eat in accordance with your body’s physiological and emotional cues.


Session Three – Performance Nutrition

This week we dive even deeper into nutrition and discuss its role in your physical performance and recovery process. Stephanie will teach you how to properly fuel your body before, during, and after physical activity to maximize your performance and improve recovery. Learn which macronutrients are most important and when, how much fluid you should be consuming each day, and how your diet can change day to day depending on your physical activity level.


Session Four – Meal Planning and Preparation

It’s time to put the last 3 weeks’ worth of knowledge into action! Discover tips and tricks to make weekly meal planning a breeze. Whether you’re cooking for yourself, or your whole family, we will discuss money and time saving methods that will help you become the master of your kitchen and keep you on track with your nutrition goals.

About your Trainer

Stephanie Meno, MS, RD, CSSD, RYT-200

Stephanie was born and raised in Akron, Ohio and completed her Bachelor’s of Science in Nutrition at the University of Akron. She relocated to San Antonio, Texas in 2014 where she commissioned in the United States Army and completed her Master’s in Nutrition through the Army Baylor Graduate Program in Nutrition. In 2015 she moved to Tacoma, Washington to complete her dietetic internship at Madigan Army Medical Center. She completed her internship and passed the registration exam to earn the credential Registered Dietitian (RD) in 2016.


Since 2016, Stephanie has worked with Soldiers and their family members across JBLM to help them achieve better health and performance through nutrition. She promotes an anti-diet approach to nutrition that considers each individuals preferences, cultural background, and personal relationship with food. Through an intuitive eating approach, she helps individuals foster healthier relationships with food and better attitudes towards themselves.


In 2021, Stephanie achieved two additional credentials she has been working towards for several years. She completed over 2,000 hours of sports specific nutrition education and successfully achieved her board certification as a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD). Additionally, after practicing yoga for over twelve years she received her Registered Yoga Teacher-200 (RTY-200) through the 200-hour teacher training program at the Hot26 School of Yoga.


Stephanie currently resides in Lacey, Washington where she lives with her husband Paul, her two-year-old daughter Imogene, dogs Tai’ase and Lila, and cat Nugget. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, practicing yoga, reading, exploring new cultures through food, and enjoying the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
