Emily Henderson, LMT, E-RYT® 500, YACEP®
I first tried yoga in 1998 on orders from a physical therapist to help heal my back. I wasn't sure I'd like it. My first lesson from yoga: don’t believe everything you think. I’ve been practicing yoga and meditation ever since.
I became certified as a yoga instructor in 2014 and trained to be a yoga teacher trainer from 2014-2016. In 2016 I was offered the position of Director of Teacher Training and Development for one of the oldest and largest chain of hot yoga studios on the west coast. This position gave me the opportunity to grow not only as a teacher, but as a trainer as well. I trained and developed teachers for 6 studios in Hatha, Vinyasa, Power, Sculpt, Yin, and Wall Yoga. In addition to the thousands of hours I have dedicated to my personal practice, I have had the opportunity to train with Renee DeTar, Carlo Giorno, Scott Lamps, and Ida Jo.
In March of 2017, I left the corporate yoga world to follow my dream of opening my own yoga school with the encouragement of my students and colleagues. In May of 2017, I launched Hot26 School of Yoga and my dream became a reality.
I teach because it makes me a better student. I love working out modifications with students who come in with well-used bodies. One of my greatest joys is watching my students transform through their yoga practice.
Not only has yoga helped me with anxiety, depression, weight loss and strength, it has completely changed my world. I am grateful for the transformation I have found through yoga and am passionate about assisting others in their journey- whether they are a student or teacher of yoga.
I am the founder of Hot26 School of Yoga. I teach Hot26, Fusion, Flō, Yin, Pilates, Barré, Little PretZels, Yoga Trapeze, Feet Up Yoga, and Hot34 Intermediate, and 84 Advanced. I train and develop teachers for their 200 and 300 hour Yoga Alliance Certifications.
